We arrived in Hubei at the White Rose to find a beautiful crib awaiting our sweet TaraKate in our room. What a nice greeting, although I must admit made my heart skip a beat, as the reality that the time was almost here...just one more hour!
We met in the conference room at the Rose. As we walked in the room, babies everywhere as well as waiting parents, all searching with their eyes for their little one. All the parents were suppose to be sitting awaiting the introduction and instructions. Daddy spotted our TaraKate with the video camera. We shared the video camera to watch her from across the room. Cute as can be she stood holding of all things, a cell phone!
We of course were the third to the last family to be called. I handed TaraKate a doll that Mamaw had bought for her. She was so busy looking at the doll that she didn't notice me. I hugged her as tear began to well up in my eyes. Daddy too had a hard time keeping back the tears, 11 long anticipated months had went by since our dossier had been sent, what a long time to finally be united with your child!
The newness of the doll wore off quickly and TaraKate began to cry. By the time we were in our room the crying became screaming. We packed her around screaming. Finally daddy suggested a bath.....low and behold the crying stopped and we began to see giggles and smiles. We all began to make friends as she played in the tub. We dressed her and fed her and played with some toys. We can see that we have a while to go before TaraKate will claim us as Mommy and Daddy, but it will come very soon.....off to bed we go...tomorrow finalize the papers!
Can't wait for her to meet her sister anxiously awaiting her at home!
