Our first full day in Guangzhou began early. Poor little Sophie was poked and prodded for her physical exam required for her U.S. visa. She was pronounced healthy, and apparently beautiful is a medical condition because the dr. made a comment about her. And also laughed at her pudgy little feet!
Again, we went shopping and made several purchases for family and friends. Sophie was wonderfully behaved in a rented stroller.
We found a restaurant that serves American food and Mary actually paid for a grilled cheese sandwich. (I don't understand why David thinks it's so strange that I wanted a grilled cheese! MMV)
Tomorrow, we plan to walk along the Pearl River which runs alongside our hotel. We are situated on an island and plan to try to take a ferry to the mainland.

P.S. The famous White Swan Barbie doll was delivered to our room today. It features a blond-haired Barbie carrying a Chinese baby girl. We'll have to buy a Ken doll when we get home in order to complete the set.
