Yesterday, our anniversary, a day to look forward to for 10 years and we went to Wal-Mart to shop! I told Mary I was going to buy her a basket full of stuff and if I could do so for under $10, then I might become a fan. I think we spent $27, so Mary will have to continue the shopping on her own!
Sophie was a big hit though. Everyone walking past us had to make a comment, touch her, or wave to her. I think we need to do a 'Sophie Does China' tour because she is definitely a star.
Once we returned from our shopping extravaganza, we decided to head to lunch in the hotel. There are a large number of other adoptive families staying here and Sophie enjoyed seeing all her little friends.
We experimented with her diet today. I gave her sliced apricots from a croissant and she loved them. Also, after 2 1/2 days we finally found out that she liked this little dish called conge and that she can eat from a spoon. Previously, she had rejected all attempts to feed her that way.
Tonight was an experience in the bath tub. The previous two nights she has been a delight. She actually loved the bath before. Tonight however she cried her eyes out. She got back at mommy though for when Mary went to towel her off, Sophie began to relieve herself uncontrollably all over mommy. I say uncontrollably because that's how I was laughing!!! I am sure Mary will see the humor in it one day.
Sophie gave us a very nice anniversary gift today. She took a 1 1/2 hour nap and let us sleep the whole time. Neither Mary nor I are up on our 'parent stamina' yet so we are sleepy most of the time.
