We went back to Shamian Island for a last time today. We really enjoy being there. We have decided that we did like staying at the White Swan on Shamian Island better in 2004. But there is a lot of construction on the Island now and that is why the agency put us at the China Hotel - which is really nice also. One of our pictures today is of the seven eleven on Shamian Island. This is for you Maddie. When we came in 2004, there were no McDonalds, no Papa Johns or Pizza Hut, and no KFC. The seven eleven on the corner was a lifesaver for us. They had the only snack food that resembled American and Danny and Maddie went there every day. There have been a lot of changes since 2004. There is also a picture of how most of the Chinese people live in the city. They obviously don't have dryers-everyone's clothes hang out of the windows. We are very excited about coming home tomorrow. We have heavy hearts as we leave, just as we did when we were here before. Our hearts are heavy for Sarah Catherine's and Danna Faith's birth mothers. Our prayer is that the Lord gives them a peace about their baby girls. These women sacrificed their safety by leaving their daughters where they did to be found. We will let both girls know one day, when they are old enough to understand, how much they were loved by their birth mothers - the sacrifice she made to give them life. We want them to be proud of where they were born and who they are. Please pray for us to show them the love of Christ and teach them to glorify Him in everything they do. We want to thank everyone for all your prayers. We have felt them. Thank you to everyone for following our journey - our second journey of a lifetime.
