Thanks so much for visiting us during our journey, Steve, Heather, Ed, Joe, Emily, Hana, Zeke and Samuel!
Today was a great day. We had nothing planned, and nothing we had to do, so we just relaxed. Part of the day was spent hanging out in our room playing games and reading. And then Steve, Joe and Sam went to the park to play, followed by a serious ping pong game, while Heather went Christmas shopping.
One of the best things that happened was that our great friend, Cynthia, who we know from home, spent about an hour speaking with Sam over the phone. What a blessing that was and we think it helped with some of the problems we’ve been experiencing. Cynthia knows us, our family, and how we live, and she knows China and the culture. We explained what was going on and she spent time speaking with Sam. Time will tell, but we think her talk with him made a big difference. That, coupled with what Leila’s told him, is hopefully making a difference. If today is any indication, we’re thrilled.
Tonight we tried another new restaurant. It was sort of a high-end restaurant and there were railroad cars positioned to eat in. What fun it was and just an excellent meal. We went with the other two families in our group and really enjoyed ourselves. Tomorrow it’s probably back to Lucy’s and then another new restaurant the next night. It seems best if we’re adventuresome every other night, with Lucy’s bringing us back to something familiar in between. Breakfast is always in the hotel and lunch is something light, but dinnertime is our time to experiment.
Blessings to all our friends and family,
Steve, Heather, Joe and Sam, with things looking up in China, and
Ed, Emily, Hana and Zeke at home, along with Grandma and Aunt Sue, doing great, but wishing, like us, that we were all together.
