First, I need to apologize for being so late in my updates. Samantha has been sick and we haven’t been feeling that great either. I will try harder to get things going again like I had planned.
Monday was a day of paperwork hell. We first went to the hotel’s breakfast buffet around 7:30 am. There were some pretty interesting items to choose from, such as corn or the cob and rice soups for breakfast. The fruit is plentiful, but they say not to eat any fruit that you can’t peel. I’m sticking to that advice for now.
All of the families then boarded a bus for an hour drive to the government agency that handles the finalization of the adoption papers. We spent about two and half hours there. Samantha was none too pleased since her fever spiked and we didn’t bring Motrin. We then traveled back to Jiangxi where we stopped to get the babies passport pictures done. By then, Samantha was a wet noodle and slept for her picture. I can’t wait to see that one!
We are hoping that Samantha will be feeling a little better by tomorrow so we don’t have to start antibiotics, but I think her fever and congestion warrants it. Needless to say, she is also sprouting her first tooth. Oragel is our friend. I have to wonder about her given age of 11 months. She is just getting her first tooth and I am beginning to think that she might be a couple of months younger than they say. Oh well, she’s cute anyway.
We are posting a couple of pictures of her and of the sites.
