Just by the title, you should probably just scroll down to see the pictures first then return back here for the story.
I think I used the word chaos to describe yesterday, and I am gonna use that word again. We got up early, around 5:00am to take part in an offered sightseeing tour. We left around 6:30 am and went to Hong Kong. We saw some really interesting things about the island. The majority of China is extremely poverty stricken, it is very hard to look at sometimes, but this is what this country knows. It was hot, around 86 degrees, and humid. We then went back to the hotel and picked up the rest of the travel group and boarded a bus for Guangzhou. This bus ride was around 3 hours and was as bumpy and nauseating as can be. Once we arrived, we were taken to the airport to fly to Samantha’s province. Since I am not a good flyer, I was not thrilled about that. The flight was about one hour long and seemed primitive to U.S. standards. We then boarded another bus to the Jiangxi Hotel. We got to the hotel around 6:00pm and were told to be in the 5th floor meeting room by 8:00pm where the babies would be waiting. As soon as we got off the elevator, there most of the other couples were being handed their babies. It went very fast and we didn’t get a chance to ask the caretakers any specifics, like feeding schedule or sleep schedule. Of course, Samantha cried like crazy, like many other of the babies. But once we got back to our rooms we changed her clothes and played a little, she seemed to settle down a good bit. She finally fell asleep around 9:30pm. She came to us only in a thin sleeper that was extremely filthy. We didn’t get the five layers of clothes that we were expecting.
Well, Happy Mothers Day to everyone back home. I hope to be catching up on the site soon. We were finally able to get the internet working again. It is not easy to connect here, so I have been fiddling with it for a couple of days. I am also having anxiety about plugging in my computer to a 220 wall outlet. But so far it is working pretty well.
