Gotcha Day!
What an incredible day!! We were all awake extremely early in great anticipation. Its hard to describe the dual feelings of anxiety and excitement....how would he appear...would he like us and accept us....did we bring all the right papers and copies....will we remember our address...did we leave the iron on (oops, different story).

We were escorted into the registrars office a few minutes before our 10:00am appointment, and to our surprise he was already standing there, bottle in hand, wearing cute clean new clothes, and looking recently bathed! His big dark brown eyes with long eye lashes looked up at all of us and he wasn't sure what to do, nearly cried, then kind of froze. As I was rushed into the paperwork, Allison and Megan interacted with him, but he was being stubborn and resisted any reaction. We needed to drive back and forth from office to office for photos, more paperwork, interviews, and the notary's office. Each time brought a very brief cry from Ryan, clearly not understanding all the fuss and movement. Allison was able to calm him immediately each time, to a point he fell asleep for a bit (which is good because our driver had a few near misses, one scrapped mirror with a truck, a ticket for going the wrong way down a narrow one-way alley full of people, and finally bouncing over a few curbs...he seemed to think these were short cuts!).

He has taken very well to all three of us, now engaged in fun laughing play, eating like a horse, drinking like...his father..., and has used the toilet multiple times already! He clearly has very strong determination, stubbornness, communicates his likes and dislikes, and loves animals.....in other words, he is already a Farrelly! Megan has been a wonderful BIG sister, and Sean will love sharing his toy cars with him.

His cleft lip repair is decent at best, and his cleft palate is a bit more severe than we hoped, however he has adjusted well and knows how to eat and drink despite this. He already has been a joy and everything we could ask for.

The Farrellys.
Can I eat that?
Can we talk?
