Its Sunday night and I can not remember what happened on Friday or Saturday. Our days are starting to blur together. But today we went to Church near our hotel. This was Joy’s first church service. The service was in both Chinese and English and we sang songs in both languages that we sing in our own church. It was a nice change but mostly it made us miss our home church. After church, Anna and I went to a tea ceremony, while David and the boys took the girls to the hotel for a nap. The tea ceremony was very interesting and we enjoyed tasting many different teas
Joy continues to blossom before our eyes. She also gets more and more beautiful as the days go by. There is such a brightness in her face and she has these adorable little dimples in her cheeks when she smiles. She is also singing the abc song, saying most of the words to peek-a-boo clearly and she can say all of our names. She says I love you many times a day and freely gives kisses and hugs. She has the cutest little raspy voice. She is the most ticklish little girl and has a contagious laugh. Its fun to hear her speak to us in Cantonese and then throw in a word or two of English.
I have often thought that the reason God made pregnancy to last 9 months is because you get so tired of being pregnant that you are more than willing to go thru labor and deliver. I think the same is true about traveling to China to adopt. After a while you are tired enough of sleeping on hard beds, brushing your teeth with bottle water, and eating out that you are more than willing to board that plane for the long and grueling trip back. It has been a great trip, but we got what we came for and are more than ready to head for home. Three more days and we will be on that plane to America.
