Medical Exam and Passport!
Thanks so much for visiting us during our journey,
Dan, Jackie and Phoebe Li!

Today we had Phoebe Li's passport photo taken across the street at the photo shop.

It's actually a family photo with Dan and I on either side of her...this is for her Chinese passport she'll need to have to leave the country. We'll get a visa later this week for her as well.

Then we took a nice walk several blocks away to the Medical Exam office, circa 1950, with nurses wearing caps like the old days. It was very neat and clean inside.

She had to have three short exams...a quick physical exam that included listening to her lungs, and ENT exam with a hearing test, a quick check in her ears, and then a look at her throat. And lastly height and weight. She did not care for the first two, however did not mind the last quite as much, as two young nurses did the job quickly and she liked them. Her weight is 7.6 kilos (16.72 pounds)...that's about what I had guessed. She's small, but not abnormally so based on Chinese growth charts.

Tomorrow is a day off from appointments; in the morning we plan to go the the temple so the monks can give the babies a blessing. Then we are off to the Jade Market.

Phoebe Li is doing so well. Each moment with her is more special. She is blossoming before our eyes and surprising us with new things all the time. It's like development in fast forward. She is very attached to us, and when we are out she clings to me with all four limbs. She hums and sings and screeches when we ride the bus! And loves to see the sights of Guangzhou. If I turn her forward while walking, she squeals and kicks both feet with joy.

We tell her go ahead and squeal honey...life is sweet!!
