We had our first plane ride and let’s just say it wasn't exactly the perfect ride. We had to get her up at like 5 and we thought we'd try to keep her awake until she got on the plane and she'd crash, well she had slightly different plans. She was tired alright, and wriggly, and every Chinese pair of eyes were on us with every peep she made. It was a little stressful..... she finally fell asleep, 10 minutes before we landed. Then our guide wanted to do the medical exam right away, I thought, this should be fun and it actually wasn't bad, she charmed the medical people and it was relatively painless.

The next day we went to a Buddhist temple and had her blessed. We all kneeled down in front of this huge alter and while the monk is doing this chanting thing, Peyton on cue starts doing her dah......dah.........dah, I think she was just talking to Buddha, actually. When it was over, I got a little teary, followed by Tim. Then the guide said we could light incense and the smoke would take the prayers up to heaven, and then we got more emotional..... I think we were both thinking of Tim’s mom. It was very moving.

After the blessing we went to this dim sum restaurant, there were foods there you probably never want to know about, and there was actually a sign out front with a big circle with a slash through it with a puppy and kitten in it, which meant they didn't serve cat or dog, well thank god for that, because everything else was there.... snake, sea cucumber, shark fin, eyeballs and all kinds of live creatures like out of some kind of bad sci-fi movie..... then we sat down and actually had to sample all these wonderful foods, some actually weren't bad, but some we just frightening. Tim was walking Peyton around, she was getting kind of fussy and everyone and their brother was talking to her and wanting to hold her... I think Tim had finally had enough and we taxied home for about $2. She was completely exhausted and slept for 3hrs.

And can I just say what an amazing dad Tim has been through this whole thing? I practically have to fight him to change her diaper, which I don't fight that hard, when it's poopy! I just watch him with her and she is so comfortable with him, and in the morning, he keeps looking in her crib to see if she's awake, so he can take her out and be with her, it melts me. He melts me, I just watch him carry her up and down the hallway to put her to sleep and I sigh.

Amazing times in Guangzhou!
