Well, Jacquie worked miracles with the packing and managed to get all the “new stuff” as well as David’s clothes in the checked bags and was even under weight, so David didn’t have to stay in China. To get there though we now have 2 new carry-on suitcases. . . . . . . Now, after the “oath ceremony” when we asked our newest citizen-to-be, Meili, what she wanted to do now that she has her USA visa – this little cutie said “I wanna go to Disneyland!!” (I think her brother & sisters influenced her) – so, call us crazy but we decided to overnight Friday & Saturday in Hong Kong and go to Hong Kong Disneyland!!!
Upon arrival at the Hong Kong airport at 9:30am we bid farewell to the rest of our adoption group and headed off on our little side adventure to HK Disneyland. We arrived at the Disney Hollywood Hotel at HK Disney about 11:30am but couldn’t get into our rooms until after 3pm, so we left our bags with the bellman and headed off to the park – Meili’s first Disney experience!! Spent the next 4 hours in the park getting a feel for the place. First stop was “Buzz Light Year”, and Meili loved it – couldn’t stop smiling!! About 3:30 we needed a break and headed back to the hotel to get our rooms – but headed back to the park at 6pm for another three hours of fun and a great Disney fireworks display. Called it a day when the park closed at 9pm.
Tomorrow begins with Meili’s first Disney character breakfast. Looking forward to it. Sure hope she likes it!!
Until tomorrow -----
