It’s Official -- Meili has her visa and is homeward bound!! Today is our last day in Guangzhou. We are all soooooooo ready to head home too.
Upon arrival and clearing immigration at the first port-of-call in the USA Meili will become an official U.S. citizen!!!!!!
Today was filled with closure activities – the “red couch” baby photo, the traditional White Swan Lobby “group photo” and, most importantly, the “visa oath” ceremony at the U.S. Consulate. Now the challenge begins – how does Jacquie get all the new “stuff” into our allotted 5 checked bags within the 44lbs per bag limit without having to leave David in China?? For the answer to that one, and an additional surprise, you will have to check back tomorrow! The group is getting together tonight for a dinner barbecue at the hotel’s river side terrace restaurant. Everyone is so excited about taking their babies home – especially us!! Absolutely cannot wait for Tim, Nikki and Matt to meet her.
Bridget, Andy and Meg have been just great!! They have been a super help with getting Meili adjusted. Meili absolutely adores her new “kids” and the 4 of them have become inseparable!
Tomorrow starts early. We have to have the checked luggage out for the bellmen by 4:30am and depart the hotel for the airport at 5:30. Our flight out of Guangzhou is at 8:30.
Plympton here we come!!
