Today was a great day with Meili. She surprises us everyday with just how bright and alert she is – and what a little mimic!! She seems to have even mastered a couple of words in English already – says “bye bye” and distinctly calls Bridget “Digit” – so cute.
Today was the LONGEST “hang around” day so far here in Chongqing. Had to complete paperwork for the upcoming U.S. visa (took 2 hours from 10:00 – 12:00) and then we just hung around the hotel until 4:30 when we checked out and headed to the airport for our flight to Guangzhou. We arrived Guangzhou airport at 8:30pm but didn’t get to the hotel until 10pm – LONG DAY!!
Tomorrow morning we meet the local guide at 8:30am to get Meili’s U.S. visa photos taken and get her visa physical exam, the last required documentation to officially submit her visa application to the U.S. Consulate – finally!! The guides tell us that tomorrow afternoon they are going to take the group to the wholesale pearl market here in Guangzhou – David figures that will be an expensive little side trip!!
Until tomorrow,
