NANCHANG, JIANXGI PROVINCE -- We skipped the tour today and ended up staying in the hotel. I've not been feeling well and Lilyanne has a cold. We decided to get some rest and hopefully recover from what ails us very quickly. After we receive Lily's passport tomorrow, we fly to Guangzhou. We are looking forward to the moderate temperatures and the White Swan Hotel.
Yesterday's trip to Tonggu was no doubt one of the highlights of our stay. It was not an easy journey but it was priceless in terms of the information we received about our daughter and where she comes from. This post will be brief, but I wanted to include more pictures of our trip to Tonggu.
One last thought about Tonggu -- it was very clear that the locals were pleased that we were adopting these baby girls. The circumstances that led to Lily's discovery are very complex culturally and politically; however, we are grateful that she was not harmed but, instead, left in a place where someone would find her and take care of her.
As for Lilyanne, she's really a delight. We feel so blessed. She's a smiley, babbly little baby who loves to be held by mama and daddy. On the long trip yesterday -- trying for any baby -- she hardly cried at all, just content to be held in our arms.
