~ About Us ~

Welcome to our journey to Klaire Julianna. We thank you for being part of this incredible journey that God has led us to and is continuing to lead us on each and every step of the way! We are Joe, Julie, Karlee and Kassidy – a family of 4 – soon to be a family of 5!

I began thinking about adoption several years ago when I taught with a friend who was in the process of adopting a little girl from China. The very next year, I had a little girl in my kindergarten class, who had been adopted from China! At this point, God had begun the process of melting my heart for adopted children. Joe and I talked about it several times, but we thought it was great for everyone else. Our family was complete, or so we thought, since we have 2 biological daughters and they were both in school. Our lives were getting easier (there we were “thinking” again - Ha!). God had a different plan for our family, one that we never expected. He began to tug on both of our hearts at the same time. One Sunday night, after we got home from church, it all became clear to us that God wanted us to adopt. We turned on Fox news and it just so happened that they were interviewing Steven Curtis Chapman, who was telling all about his family adopting three little daughters from China. Joe and I looked at each other and knew that this is what God was calling us to do. I immediately wrote down the website of their organization Shoahannah’s Hope and began to research everything about adoption and the different agencies. The next evening, January 3, 2005, we filled out our adoption application online and sent it to America World! Our daughters were thrilled when we told them they would be getting a little sister. That is how our journey started to Klaire.

This journey has been a huge faith builder in our family- (immediate and extended). We have seen God at work in so many ways! When you do what God calls you to do, He will provide- financially and emotionally! He has provided over and over for our family and continues to do so each and every day! Our favorite saying over this past year has been “It’s a God Thing!!!” There is no other way to describe this journey to the daughter that God has already chosen for us - “It was definitely a God thing!” Ephesians 3:20-

We are so honored that God has chosen us to be Klaire’s family! We appreciate your prayers as we continue on our journey to our precious chosen daughter, who has been in our hearts for a long time and soon will be in our arms!
