Today was a wonderful day! Kassidy woke up with NO fever!!! Thank you for all of your prayers on her behalf! Joe took her to a Western doctor and they gave her a shot! She felt 100% better, the next morning!
Today we took a taxi to Shamian Island and went shopping! It was so much fun to go into all the shops and bargaining with the people! We got a lot of good deals!
Klaire did wonderful and was very pleasant! I think I may have a shopper! ha! We bought a stroller for Klaire, but ended up using it for our packages since she wanted to be held. At least we didn't have to carry our purchases! ha!
Klaire continues to bond with us very well! She loves the girls and still prefers me over Joe, although she will let him hold her - just not too long. I am amazed at how perfectly she fits into our family! God has chosen the perfect little girl half way around the world to come into our family like she has always been a part of us! We thank God for His awesome faithfulness!

September 10 -- Chen Temple
Today we went to the Chen temple. It was very beautiful and had lots of wonderful things to see. Klaire actually rode in her stroller when she was asleep! ha! It was nice and cool here today! After we got back to the hotel, we went to McDonald's to eat lunch. Klaire ate her first french fry. She is doing so well now with her solid foods! She is eating a lot!
The rest of the day was free- so we just played around the room with Klaire. She is laughing and playing so much more these days! She army crawls on the floor- she mainly pulls herself on the floor by her arms and drags her legs! It is so cute.
I'm lovin' it!
September 11 -- Medical Exam
Today we went to Shamian Island for Klaire's medical exam. It was chaos with all of the AWAA families in there together! There are about 40 families here and we are split into 3 groups. The babies have to have these exams to get their visas to travel to the US! There was so much screaming going on - I can't see how the doctors could do or hear anything! ha!
We went to 3 different stations- weight/temp/length, ENT, and the overall body check. Klaire did wonderful at the stations. She weighs 16.7 lbs with all of her clothes and shoes on and a wet diaper! When we finally made it to the ENT station- she was sound asleep! The doctor laughed because she squeaked a horn and Klaire turned toward it in her sleep! It was so funny! She told us that she had good ears!
After the medical exam, we went shopping again on the Island. We found a store called "A Gift From China." It is a charity store that sells things and gives all the proceeds to orphans in China! We met an orphan who was 20 years old that they had brought there to learn to quilt and make baby blankets! Joe and I were moved to tears by the love these people have for the orphans in China! We bought a few things from there to help. What a neat place! We plan to go back there tomorrow!
Please pray for Joe and 3 other men in our group, Doug, Billy, and Stephen. They are 4 of the dads with daughters from Xuwen orphanage. They will be leaving at 6:30 in the morning to travel 8 hours down to Xuwen to visit Klaire's orphanage. They are the first foreign visitors to ever visit the orphanage. We are so excited that they will get to go and see where our daughters lived their first 9-10 months of their lives! Also, they are hoping to get to see their finding places. Our guide, Amy, got a driver for the trip and a van for them to rent. Please remember these guys in your prayers tonight- because they will be traveling over 16 hours on their trip! Pray for their safety! We feel so blessed that Joe will be able to go to Klaire's first home.
Klaire continues to blossom! She is so much fun! Her little personality is coming out more and more everyday! She loves to babble and smile with those 4 teeth shining! Her little smile will just melt your heart! We thank the Lord for this beautiful chosen daughter of ours!
Love to all of you from Guangzhou, China!
