This morning we started out with a phone conference call to our church! It was great to hear everyone and answer questions! I am amazed at technology these days! We talked to everyone over Skype. (I recommend it to anyone coming to China for a way to talk to home everyday - cheap!!) I am supposed to talk to my kindergarten class tonight over it as well!
After we got off the "phone", we went to the Guangzhou Zoo! When we got there it was very hot! We walked around and saw many animals- especially the Pandas! Before we got to the exit, it started thunder storming! We all ran and got under some picnic tables with umbrellas. It poured for several minutes. We all got soaked! After it calmed down, we ran for the bus! We all decided not to go to Pizza Hut because we were all drenched! We will go tomorrow for lunch.
When we got back to the hotel, we went and changed and hit some of the local shops around the hotel. I started my shopping! ha! I bought 3 pair of squeaky shoes- so far! We plan to go to Shamian Island on Saturday to shop some more!
Klaire is doing wonderful! Her personality is really coming out more and more each day! She was all smiles today! She is having a hard time with solid foods. They say a lot of the children from her orphanage have never had solid foods so they don't know what to do with them when they are put in their mouth! It is hilarious to see her when you put a spoon to her mouth- she immediately scrunches up her nose and lips and turns her head. I did get her to eat some pears that I had brought with us tonight! It was so cute. She is starting to prefer me over Joe these days. Although, she still does go to him, but will start whimpering after me if I am standing close. She loves the girls and will go to them easily!
I am so amazed at how well she fits into our family! God was definitely in this whole process! He continues to amaze me at every detail of this whole process! Klaire is the daughter He chose for us before we even knew her or thought about her! Our verse during this whole process has been Ephesians 3:20- "God will do much more than we can ever ask or imagine!" That is so true!
Please keep Kassidy in your prayers today! She has not felt well. She has been chilling all day and now tonight is running a fever! I know that with your prayers -she will be feeling better tomorrow!
She has been a real trooper even though she has not felt well! A Chinese lady in one of the shops we went in - saw that she was not feeling well- so she got something out of her purse and rubbed it on her temples and back of her neck. That kinda freaked Kassidy out. It smelled like Ben-Gay. The lady was being very nice about it, but Kassidy couldn't stand the smell. I hope whatever she rubbed on her will do the trick to get her better- who knows! ha!
Tomorrow , we are off to a park and then to Pizza Hut! Thanks for all the e-mails! I love coming to the computer every morning and reading everyone's e-mails! They are so encouraging! Please know that we are reading them all and love hearing from home! Tim & Kristen, thanks so much for the baby b'jorn- we are using it everyday!
