September 5, 2006 It's official-
Klaire is ours forever!!!
What a day! Klaire went to bed last night about 7:00pm and didn't wake up until 7:00 am!! 12 hours the first night- what a blessing! Joe and I were up at about 4:30 thinking she would be up any minute but she kept sleeping! We were amazed! She woke up with a smile on her face, even though there were 3 of us looking over her crib and I had a towel on my head! I guess she thinks we are keepers! ha!
We went down to breakfast and saw all the other families with their girls! It was so much fun to see everyone this morning with their babies! I think almost all of them slept for at least 10 or more hours! We then went to the Civil affairs office again to do the adoption paperwork! After 2 interviews and our family picture- Klaire is officially ours forever!!! Klaire did not want to take the family photo for our adoption certificate! She cried and cried! After it was over- she smiled and smiled! It was pretty funny- poor Amy tried and tried to get Klaire to look at them and smile, but no such luck! Amy just laughed when she saw Klaire having a good time after that! When we got back on the bus, Amy congratulated all of us and said now they are yours forever! We all clapped! WOW- what a day- God is so good!
They took us to the friendship store to get diapers, formula, etc.- Joe got scolded for not having Klaire's legs covered! (She had a sweater on and socks and a dress and it was at least 90 degrees outside!- I was sweating just looking at her! ha!) We went to McDonald's when we got back to the hotel and ate lunch then we all crashed for about 3 1/2 hours! I guess we were more tired than we thought! ha!
Another family here, The Schmeiser's came to our room tonight with their daughters Keara and Maura and we ordered out supper and let the girls play! It was so much fun! The orphanage director said that Maura and Klaire were best friends in the orphanage! We are so thankful for this special family that God has put into our lives! They are so much fun! Also, Molly and Keara love to shop - so we have already planned many shopping trips to buy squeaky shoes! ha!
Klaire's personality is really coming out today! The girls got her to
giggle and smile today! She has the cutest little laugh! She has 4
teeth- 2 on top and 2 on bottom! She likes to show her teeth when she
smiles! Also, she has the longest tongue! She constantly has it out
making all kinds of faces and licks everything! It is so funny to watch her!
We just are in awe of this precious gift that God has chosen to bless our family with! I am just amazed at how well she fits into our family! She is perfect! I can't wait for all of you to meet her! You will all love her so much!
Klaire is ready for bed- so until tomorrow...
