-An Ancient Chinese Belief
The weather in Detroit was cool and overcast...yet we knew the weather in China will be very hot and humid, especially now during the monsoon season. The two plane rides went well without problems. We all had difficulty sleeping during the 15 hours of flight (but Sean did catch some zzz's on the second flight). Sean enjoyed the 747 since it was so much larger than other planes he has flown on.
The highlight of the travel was the heated and ventilated toilet seats at the Northwest World Club Lounge in the Tokyo Airport...however I think mine malfunctioned and I was forced to limit the quality "library reading time" as the seat seemed to heat-up beyond comfort (Allison wishes we had these at home).
We were surprised and thrilled to see our guide was Jane...the same guide from our trip two years ago. She was wonderful last time, and we look forward to traveling with her this year.
We must say hello to family at home, especially Megan and Ryan...we miss you already!
"Sean Says":
This was the longest airplane ride I ever took...it seemed like an eternity!! I thought it was kind of funny how long it took for the announcements on the plane in three different languages...and the Chinese and Japanese took longer than English. I'm anxious to see Katie! Everyone has been kind, and I'm learning more Chinese language.
