December 30 --

Hi everybody!  Sorry I'm so late at posting, but our computer has a virus and we are still having some technological challenges due to the earthquake (I guess).  Our cell phone isn't working either, so we feel a bit isolated...if that's possible with 1.4 billion people!

Today we went to Jaiden's mandatory medical examination to exit the country.  She had a serious meltdown for the viewing pleasure of everyone working at the clinic.  They seemed quite alarmed, but I assured them she would be fine.  She passed the medical exam, but when we got back to the room I determined she must have a bladder infection.  We started her on some antibiotics.  Poor Hadji must be in the process of passing a kidney stone.  He's had some significant challenges since we got here, and I just pray it doesn't get really bad for him on the flight home.

After everybody (me included) calmed down, the girls had a nice nap.  We ate some lunch (Jaiden LOVES pizza), and we went to the playground to play.

Today we went to a beautiful Buddhist temple and the girls were blessed by a very nice monk.  There were some photographers present from a local paper, and we all got our pictures taken for a story they were working on about the temple.  We were told there was a cat that lived at the temple, so Erin was busy searching for the cat.  She told everyone she has a Siamese cat that speaks Lebanese and Chinese--she came up with that one on her own, clearly she is related to her father!

After the blessing and temple visit, we did some hard core shopping at the porcelain and jade market.  We then went for a long walk in a very beautiful park.

After another good nap, we returned to the local playground.  Jaiden is starting to fight back with Erin...is that progress?
