What can I say other than "perfect!" The initial meeting didn't seem to start off in the right direction as Jaelyn wanted nothing to do with me. She was near tears every time I got near her and was scared of Joshua. When I took her from the nanny she cried "Mama" but was reaching back for the nanny instead of me. She settled down when she went to Daddy, and I thought maybe I was in for a period of rejection, which can be common with the older babies. Fortunately it didn't last long! She snuggled and played with us all afternoon as we went to 3 different appts.
This evening she has been showing us her personality, which is really
quite sweet. She has an independent streak (a true Crebbin girl) and
wants to do things by herself. She carefully turned every page in a
magazine around 10 times in a row. She loved the mashed potatoes from
KFC, and surprisingly loved her bath too. She has a bit of
mischievousness in her too as she leapt from the chair to the bed,
laughing out loud as she landed. Of course she had to do it again after
she got a lot of laughter from the crowd:)
We were happy to find out she is potty trained. Notice the split pants in one of the pictures. She had 2 layers of split clothing on when we got her. For those of you who aren't familiar with the split pants, the Chinese often put the children who are potty training in them so that all they have to do when it's time to go is squat over the hole in the ground. Very convenient, but I don't think we'll try it at home.
Right now Joshua and Jaelyn are lying in bed next to one another, going to sleep. I'm not sure which one will be out first, as both are pooped. Hopefully she sleeps in tomorrow to start off another great day.
