Suffer little children,

Holly thought this was a giant sandcastle! She loved the time we spent at the beach this past summer.
December 6, 2009
We finally got to bed around 4:30 a.m. this morning. We decided we would try to sleep in and skip breakfast today. Hannah and Holly each woke up around 9:30 a.m. So much for sleeping in! We didn’t end up missing breakfast after all. The White Swan has a reputation for having one of the very best breakfast buffets in the area. It is filled with a large selections of both American and traditional Chinese foods. We enjoyed a leisurely breakfast and the view of the boats passing by on the Pearl River. The White Swan Hotel is also known for its beautiful lobby which right now is all decked out for Christmas. After breakfast we took the girls for a walk around the lobby. They really enjoyed watching the indoor waterfall and all of the colorful fish swimming around! They loved the giant Christmas tree and all the decorations. Hannah loves flowers and so we had to stop and let her smell each flower that she passed by. We are thankful there was nothing scheduled on our itinerary today. The rest of the day was pretty uneventful and was spent relaxing in our room. The girls played with their toys and watched movies. Daddy and Holly took a long nap. After her nap Holly decided to watch movies with Hannah. The next thing I knew both girls were asleep on the floor. Around 7:00 p.m. I woke everyone up so that we could walk to Lucy’s for dinner. Lucy’s serves American style food but with that being said I must say that the food doesn‘t taste anything like the food back home! When we were here in China in 2006 we thought the food from Lucy’s was wonderful after eating the food in Nanchang for a week (I got very sick in Nanchang). The food tonight was not very good and none of us ate very much. Hannah fell asleep at the dinner table. She seems to be pretty jet lagged tonight. This is our last night of just the four of us. Tomorrow we will get Hope! What an exciting day it will be for us but filled with many unknown challenges. Please pray along with us that Hope will have a smooth transition to her forever family! We can’t view our daily posts on Hope’s website or post to our Facebook account while we are here in China because it is blocked. I am sending updates to our daughter-in-law, Stephanie who will then post them to facebook for us.. We are able to receive your emails from Hope’s website and your replies from facebook via email (note: at the bottom of each page of the website there is an email icon). Thank You so much for your prayers!
