Holly is still waking up a couple of times during the night but once comforted she will fall back to sleep. At 6:30 a.m. she was awake and ready to start the day. Hannah was ready for her morning cartoons so we popped in one of her Veggie Tale movies. Hannah and Holly both watch cartoons here in Spanish. I think Hannah was happy to watch them in English again. We had a very good day today. Holly is eating well and smiles more frequently. After breakfast we took a stroll on the hotel grounds. We are not allowed to leave the hotel grounds until we have all of our documents proving Holly belongs to us. We are glad we stayed at the Marriott hotel again because it has a large lobby and the grounds are beautiful. Our room has a small covered veranda that we frequent to catch the breeze and enjoy the distant scenery. Our facilitator is supposed to bring our paperwork to us around 11:00 a.m. today. While we waited for our paperwork we spent some time playing with the girls. They loved the bubbles we had brought. While Holly took her morning nap I caught up on some emails and boiled water for Holly's bottles, etc (in Guatemala we have to use bottled water for baby bottles, drinking, brushing our teeth, etc just like in China). Holly drinks Nido, a powdered form of whole milk made by Nestle. Our facilitator called at 11:15 a.m. and said she had the cardiologist report but wouldn’t be able to pick up our Consulate package until later in the afternoon. She said she would bring it by around 4:30 p.m. or 5:00 p.m. Her constant delays are starting to make us a little nervous. Our Embassy appointment is tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. After Holly woke up from her nap we decided to take the girls and go have a little fun in the sun. It was 77 degrees again today. While everyone back home is playing in the snow that fell today we were playing in the pool. The Marriott has a nice heated pool with a very shallow baby area. Holly didn’t like taking a bath when we visited in June, in fact she screamed the whole time. She hasn’t liked her baths this time either so we were not sure how she would react to being in the pool. I sat with her on my lap in the shallow end. We started out with just her feet in the water but it wasn’t long before she was playing and splashing around. She had fun but was not happy if we tried to get her in water above her waist. After swimming the girls each took a nice long nap. Our facilitator called at 5:30 p.m. and said she was sending her assistant to our hotel with the sealed Consulate packet and Holly’s passport. She told us not to open the packet as that had to be done by the Embassy staff tomorrow. She gave us some more instructions and said she would pick us up in the morning around 7:15 a.m. to take us to our Embassy appointment. We met her assistant in the lobby. She handed us the sealed envelope and Holly’s passport. Praise the Lord!! We are so happy to finally have these documents in our possession. We celebrated with dinner at the hotel sports restaurant. Holly enjoyed standing up and holding on to the back of our booth seat. She ate pieces of chicken and french-fries. She doesn’t eat very much at one time. We decided to get the girls bathed and ready for bed early tonight since we have to be up so early in the morning. Holly still doesn’t like taking a bath but she loves for me to put lotion on her and to brush her hair. Thank You for all of your prayers and words of encouragement.
