Happy Groundhog day from sunny Guatemala! I am not sure if they even have groundhogs here but if they do he definitely would have seen his shadow today. This has been a day of major milestones. Holly sat in a highchair for the first time this morning to eat her breakfast and loved it. After breakfast we took our morning stroll and then spent time playing in our room. She had a lot of fun playing with blocks. She will sit without someone holding her now as long as one of us is in the room with her. She attempts to scoot/semi-crawl after objects she is curious about. She loves to watch cartoons. We expected Hannah to be somewhat jealous of her new baby sister but for the most part she has been pretty good. What we didn’t expect was for Holly to be jealous of Hannah. She likes Hannah but not on Mommy or Daddy’s lap especially if she is sitting there. Today we allowed Hannah to feed Holly some of her snacks and that has helped their bonding tremendously. This evening we took a cab over to the Radisson hotel and met the director of our agency and several other CCI families who are visiting their babies. We all enjoyed dinner together at a steakhouse not far from the Radisson. The food was fabulous and we had a wonderful time visiting with the other families! After dinner we rode a cab back to our hotel. We bathed the girls and got them ready for bed. Holly sat in the bathtub tonight for the first time without screaming. She actually enjoyed splashing in the water and playing with some toys. We are turning in early tonight because we are taking a tour of Chichicastenanango and Lake Atitlan tomorrow. We have to be ready to go by 7:00 a.m. We are so very blessed to have these two beautiful little girls! Thank you all for your prayers!
