Hello again. Today was our last full day in China. We leave very early in the morning for our flight to Toyko, then to Detroit, then to Kansas City, Missouri.....HIP HIP HOORAY!!! We cant believe the day we have waited for for almost 2 years is finally gonna be here tomorrow. The day we bring our daughter home is going to be a joyous one!! We are happy and blessed more than words could ever say!!
Today we went to the consulate and had a very, very, did I say very....informal ceremony. We swore that all the information we have provided was accurate to the best of our knowledge with our right hands raised. We then got Gracies passport, with her visa page inside. This was awesome. This is what we have been waiting for. She can now go home to America. Home to the many people that love her even before meeting her. Home to two big brothers who are dying to meet us at the airport and squeeze her!! She can now go home to a happy, loving, non orphan life.
Some of you, in the beginning of the adoption journey, said, "You are going WHERE....to do WHAT?" You thought we were nuts,,,,,,,,,,,,,,WE ARE NUTS!!! But, God led us 1/2 way around the world for a daughter he prepared just for us. He has been the captain of our ship and the journey has been amazing!! Now, those of you who wondered what we were smoking are now waiting ever so impatiently to embrace our newest angel with open arms of love. For that, we love you. We love you for helping us through this long process in the hard times and the not so hard times. We love you for supporting us emotionally when the days turned to weeks, then to months and sometimes got overwhelming. We love you for treating Gracie as if she were your own, even before you have had the chance to kiss her cheeks. They are very soft,,,,I know!!! Thank You all!!!!!
God has had every detail mapped out from the beginning. Every obstacle we faced, we faced because God had Gracie,our Gracie, the Gracie he designed, the Gracie with the 2 cutest thumbs on one hand, made just for us. His timing is always perfect. You've heard it before Im sure. But, this child through the Miracle Of Adoption was specifically meant for us. We can't imagine any other child but her. She is so amazingly perfect . What did Mary Poppins say?......Practically Perfect in Every Way! Well, Gracie IS perfect in every way. To our maker we are forever grateful for this opportunity to be her parents. Blessed In Abundance....beyond measure!!
We love you all and pray that somehow through our story, through the grapevine, through word of mouth, somehow, someway, many orphans like Gracie can be given a better chance at a better life by taking a leap of amazing faith and adopting!!
This trip has been so wonderful!!God Bless you all for following us. Adoption has changed our lives forever!
