Hello everyone, we are still loving China!! We are definitely coming back here to visit again. Guangzhou is great. It’s beautiful and clean and smells nice. The hotel makes us feel like royalty. Yet, I am so glad that we got to experience the real China in Nanchang. I don’t think that we would really appreciate Gracie’s homeland if we had not visited there.
We did alot of shopping today. ALOT!!! They have awesome, cheap baby clothes here. They are beautiful and you get to negotiate the price lower every where you go. It’s awesome.
Aunt Tammy, You asked me if Gracie had any squeaky shoes. Well, let me tell ya ............I think she has about 15 pairs already. One in every color and then some. They are so cute. For those of you who don't know what squeaky shoes are, they are adorable little shoes made with a squeaker in the bottom. Every time Gracie makes a step, she squeaks. They are too cute!!
We got Gracie a couple of beautiful traditional Chinese outfits today, with some added flare. You will see Gracie in one of them in a picture at the bottom of the page.
We also ordered a bunch of stuff from a place called Lucy’s today. For those of you coming to China soon, Lucy’s is right outside the White Swan Hotel and to the right. She does your laundry, she sells baby clothes, she makes custom made silk outfits in one day, she has toys, squeaky shoes, you name it, Lucy has it!! GO SEE LUCY WHEN YOU COME TO CHINA!!
We ordered from Lucy a beautiful handmade silk blanket. We are supposed to pick it up today along with some other surprises for some people at home. I can’t wait to see them. She had so many beautiful fabrics to choose from.
It was hard to decide.
Tonight after all the wonderful shopping, we had a farewell dinner with our other CHI families. It was okay, just some kinda weird food.
Larry and Helen, I’m gonna need some crag rangoon when I get back!!!No crag rangoon in China!!!
At the end of the dinner our guides gave us a gift from Children’s Hope. It was a beautiful pearl bracelet. That’s was very nice of them. We will save it for when she is older.
We go tomorrow to the consulate to take an oath to say we will love Gracie no matter what and offer her the best life possible. After that we get her visa....HOORAY!!We can go to America!!! HOORAY!!!
Tonight they had a beautiful fireworks display outside the hotel window. We don't know why but, we are so glad we got to watch. Their fireworks put us Americans to shame!! Look at the beautiful pictures below!
Hmmmmmmmmmm, besides that, we are doing great. Bill is great, Bambi is great, Elijah is Great, Gracie is great and Nikki is wonderful!! We cant wait to see everyone. China has been the trip of a lifetime. So much more than we could have ever imagined. And now, we are ready to introduce our beautiful Chinese American princess to all of you. She is so much fun and has so much energy. Did I mention that I'm still her favorite person?? Ya, that feels good!!
