Home Update -
Grace Is Home!
Well it’s been 6 weeks since we came home with Grace.  We have seen a huge transformation in her demeanor, personality, and life.  She is truly not the same little girl that we were introduced to on Aug. 13, 2006.  Grace is full of joy, likes to play, blow raspberries, and pops her tongue.  She started saying “Mom”, “Ma-ma”, and “Da-Da”.  Since coming home Grace has had her first doctor app. and has done well with her doctor.  She started rolling over by herself, has cut four new teeth at the same time, and is working on conquering the crawling.  Grace can make it onto one knee and will rock back and forth like she is ready to crawl.  Grace has also learned how to get Mom and dad to pick her up – the “pick me up” cry.  Works every time.

Our first weekend back after the trip was Labor Day and we went down to Los Gatos for the annual Labor Day Family party at Candie-Gram’s house.  She got into the pool with everybody, kicked her legs like she was swimming, was smiling, and would not get out of the pool until we made her.  We could tell she was getting cold by her lips turning blue.  Grace is a definite “water-baby”.  The next night she attended Uncle Mitch and Aunt Alyssa’s wedding, which by the way was her first wedding.  Everyone who had been waiting to meet Grace for as long as we had were at the wedding and were dying to hold her.  Grace was fantastic letting others hold her for a short time, and when she was ready to come back to us she would reach out.  One really cute moment happened when she was with an Uncle across the room and looked over and saw Daddy, she started blowing raspberries by while looking at me.  Grace went onto the dance floor with everybody, smiling, giggling, and with a huge happy face.  Needless to say she was also a hit with the photographer.  They kept taking pictures of her with Mom, Dad, Aunt April, and others and she was so “darn stinking cute”.

These past six weeks have been great.  We have come to know our baby girl as a bright, smiling, giggling, little girl who is very active and expressive.  She has developed the cutest “cheesy smile” and when we see that it melts our hearts even more.  Everyday and night that we watch Grace, we see a baby girl that is from China, but in our hearts and eyes all we see is “Our Daughter”.  Grace…Mommy and Daddy started our journey to you on Dec. 09, 2004.  Everyday was a new milestone that we had to get beyond, and brought us one more day closer to you.  When we finally got the news that you were ready and waiting for us, our entire lives took on an even higher level of love for you.  From the moment we first saw your pictures to the moment we held you in our arms we knew that you were our daughter and that you will always have our unconditional love.  You have brought us joy, happiness, and gave us the one thing we had been waiting for……YOU!!!!!!!!
