Today we are touring the Dr. Sun Yat-sen museum. He is to the Chinese like George Washington is to Americans. The grounds were beautiful with lots of flowers. After seeing the monument, going into the auditorium and touring the grounds, we headed out for shopping. Oh boy! More shopping! Got to make my wife proud so I have to buy lots of "stuff." I don't think it matters what it is, as long as it is stuff to bring home from China.
Our first stop was a calligrapher that specialized in doing children's names. Of course this is something I know my wife would like, anything that has the children's name on it. So I have him do Hannah's name and Geordyn's, except I had him do her Chinese name, Jia Meng. His work also includes the meaning of the child's name. He can paint the calligraphy with either hand and with his toes. The painting is done on thick canvas paper with a dark border down each side. It hangs vertically about 4 feet, beautiful work with his name and seals down the side. What a keepsake for both the girls. I can't believe I can say both the girls! Because now we have 2 beautiful daughters.
After resting awhile and playing with elevator buttons, we walked down to a mall with guess what ...a baby store! It's a good thing my wife didn't come with me or I would be buying 3 suitcases to carry the "stuff" home in, instead of just one. The group then headed for McDonalds to eat. Robin and Paul's son, Land has again been popular today, with everyone wanting to run their fingers through his hair. He is taking it well, I think Robin prepared him for the fascination with light hair.
Today is the day Geordyn Belle Jia Meng's paper will be delivered to the Consulate! We are getting closer to the end and to heading for home.
