Dad and Geordyn with Dolton Hotel Doorman
Today our plans are to go see a 2500 year old mummy. I've heard it is perfectly intact. If they could just figure out a way to keep 50 year olds that way while still living. I think this baby will definitely keep me going for a long time. I have her eating schedule just about figured out, especially since I started putting the rice cereal in it like my wife had told me about before I left home, but forgot about. (she's an amazing woman!) Geordyn eats at 5:30am, 8:30am, 11:30am, 4:00pm, and 9:00pm, then usually sleeps through the night. Have babies always eaten this much?
After the museum, our guide will take us by the post office for some to mail things back home. While I'm thinking of this, if you have not traveled yet to China and are coming without some of the family members, you must have skpe on your computer with a web cam. My wife and daughter have been able to see Geordyn, me, and all the others in the group. We talk and see each other every day. It has been a godsend to my family to be able to feel like we are together and for my wife and Hannah to be able to see her interact with me, babble, even trying to talk back to Hannah as she talks to Geordyn. She was even trying to sing for Hannah the other night...just humming but beautiful. My wife told me when we signed off the skype, our daughter fell in the floor crying, "I want my baby sister!" So it is a powerful way to stay connected.
I have been reading some of the information given to me by the orphanage about Geordyn. Don't know if you will find this fascinating reading but it is to me, so here goes. The 1st month she was in the orphanage Geoerdyn slept nearly all the time, She was sensitive to touch especially when someone touched her face. She only cried when hungry or tired. By 3 months she could hold her head up and at 4 months she liked colorful things, could hold herself up from the chest, and hold onto a finger. At 7 months Geordyn could sit up some for a while. Her favorite food is apple. I have also discovered she has one tooth we didn't know about and is cutting another. Of course my wife sent teething medicine even though we didn't know she had any teeth. (Have I mentioned what an amazing woman she is?)
The week-end is coming and more adventures with baby and China!
