| We are high school sweethearts that have been happily married since February 1992. We felt God's calling on our hearts to adopt internationally last year. Everywhere we turned we were face to face with the calling of adoption. In billboards, on radio, at concerts, etc. There was no way God was going to let us miss it!! We checked into several countries, but always kept being drawn back to China. Both of us knew in a |

| Legacy of an Adopted Child
Once there were two women, who never knew each other. One you do not remember, the other you call mother. Two different lives, shaped to make yours one. One became your guiding star, the other became your sun. The first gave you life, and the second taught you to live it. The first gave you need for love, and the second was there to give it. One gave you a nationality, the other gave you a name. One gave you the seed of talent, the other gave you an aim. One gave you emotions, the other calmed your fears. One saw your first sweet smile, the other dried your tears. One gave you up... It was all that she could do. The other prayed for a child, and God led her straight to you. And now you ask me through your tears, The age-old questions through the years. Heredity or environment...which are you a product of? Neither, my darling...neither, just two different kinds of love. | way that can't be described that China was where we would find the daughter that God had named for us. After many prayers from our church family and friends, God has provided for us every step of the way. He fills us with peace and expectation for the day that our daughter is laid in our arms for the very first time and comes home with us to her forever family. Emma is already so much a part of our lives, we pray for her and her caregivers every night. We pray for her mother and the heartbreaking choice that she made out of love. It is amazing how much you can love someone you haven't even met yet!! Emma is coming home to not only the two of us, but many others that anxiously await her arrival and the chance to shower her with love. Everyone from grannies and great-grans, aunts, cousins, and so many at our church are waiting for you Emma!! We pray that God blesses everyone involved in this entire process and give Him the utmost praise for the spirit of adoption that He has placed on His children.
