In every country of the world children are often found
Without a home and all alone – no parents are around!
Each of these precious boys and girls are hoping that someone
Will love them and will choose them as their daughter or their son.
Bethany Christian Services tries to make these hopes come true
Finding moms and dads for them is the special work they do.
With diligence and fervent prayer they screen folks carefully;
So they may place these children where the Lord wants them to be.
We heard about a little girl born in the Philippines
And called to see if Bethany could help fulfill our dreams;
But after checking into it they found to our dismay,
The government would not allow adoptions done this way.
We told them we would like to have a little girl or boy
To love and cherish always and to fill our home with joy.
We know that in this whole wide world God has a child somewhere,
So we’ll just wait for Him to place the right one in our care.
God’s given us a special love for folks who cannot hear
We’ve learned to sign their language and we work with them all year.
When Bethany called and said they’d found a little “Child of Promise,”
A two-year-old that cannot hear, we knew this child was for us.
Our dossier is in the mail, our bags are packed and ready;
And soon we’ll fly to China to be “Daniel’s” mom and daddy.
Thank you, Bethany, for all the prayers and work that you have done;
Our family soon will be complete with our precious little son.
