The journey of a lifetime began at 4:46 pm on Wednesday when we left the Lafayette Airport. My parents and nephew Braden took us to the airport that afternoon with two requests, be safe and "Bring our Grandbaby Home". Braden hugged me and said "SueSue you take good care of yourself". As our flight took off, the flood of emotions finally hit me. After 14 months, we were finally going to get Dallas. It took all I could do to not start crying. I just gave thanks to God for this wonderful blessing he has given us and prayed for a safe journey and good health.
We had no problems with our flights. There was a 5 hour layover in Los Angeles and that was not fun as we both wanted to go to sleep and couldn't. Our flight left LAX at 1:55 Thursday morning PST. Cathay Pacific is a wonderful airline and we had great service. Johnny slept much of the way but I couldn't. We each had a video monitor of our own built into the seat in front of us so I got to watch lots of movies and TV shows. One can only take so much of The Simpsons and Absolutely Fabulous.
Braden, We flew by Korea where your Daddy's Army base is. I blew some kisses out the window to him for you. Please take good care of Noelle for us. The flight landed at 7:52 am in Hong Kong on Friday Morning. This was 26 hours after we left Lafayette. Right before we landed the plane hit some bad turbulence. I thought I was going to swallow my tongue as it was that bad. Three little boys were sitting next to us and thought that it was funny. One started shouting "A roller coaster ride, let's do that again daddy". By that time everyone was laughing so hard we didn't mind the turbulence. We are now in Hong Kong at the Royal Park Hotel.
Thanks for following our journey. We will update you again for Friday and Saturday about what we see in Hong Kong.
