Today we went to the South China Agricultural University to visit their veterinary school. It was very interesting! The veterinary school was in an old three story building surrounding an open cement courtyard. It was very old. They are in the process of building a new building to house the veterinary school. The surroundings were very primitive and not clean, but their equipment wasn't bad. They were getting ready to install a new digital x-ray machine. Their blood analyzers were fairly new, and made in the U.S. The director who showed me around was very nice. After the tour he made some phone calls so we could go visit a much more modern hospital in town. The students do some clinical work at that hospital. We met several students and watched them work on one dog who came in for vaccinations. They had a stray dog living at their hospital too. Christa Lan seems to like dogs even though her caregivers said she didn't. Thank God!!
After the tour we watched Hairspray and played in the room. Then we went to dinner and to the local park to play.
Christa Lan's vocabulary is getting larger everyday. She is very fast and plays hard, so she'll fit in well with our wild family!
