Today we found Cameron's abandonment spot. It was rainy today which made it seem even more sad to think someone could leave him like this. He was found under some pine trees on a green belt between two busy roads. I posted a picture below. He obviously does not have a memory of this but someday we will have to explain this to him just like Emma Grace's abandonment at the gates of a hospital.
Our guide Ellen said this is a very busy location so he was easily seen.
Later today we went to his orphanage which is top notch for the Chinese standard. In fact, we were surprised at how modern and clean it is. We were not allowed to take pictures inside. We did see some babies but a limited number and we also saw some special needs children mainly with cerebral palsy. I had to move quickly thru this room as it makes you cry for these kids. The staff does truly care for these children. However, the orphanage staff is very careful about what they let you see. We have met another American family here that adopted Cameron's foster sister and we toured the orphanage with them. I put a picture in with the two of them playing. He was very loving with her! Some of the nannies came out to say goodbye to us along with the assistant director. I don't know if they remember Cameron since he had not stayed here since he was a baby and again last week for a few days. On a side note, KunMing Orphanage houses several hundred babies/children and manages the foster care of about 400 more or so.
Last but not least we managed to find a decent place to eat tonight that did not have some weird animal part on it. It features mainly western food and we learned about it from some other Americans at our hotel. It was funny to see us all just about dive on the food. Austin never looked up once as he ate normal pasta (two bowls total)! Emma as usual had her pasta thrown everywhere including her hair. Cameron is the neatest child when it comes to his food. He does not get a thing on his face (which Jason's loves).
Well, two more days in Kunming and we fly to Guangzhou.
Love Jason, Donna, Gramma, Austin, Emma Grace and Cameron
