--Last Full Day in Xi’an
Today we did some last minute shopping as we have a very early flight in the morning. We purchased some tea sets with all the essential utensils. We had a tea ceremony so we know how to use all the stuff we bought;0)
Bella continues to do wonderfully. She spent a lot of time with one of her ayi’s. They both enjoyed their time together. We will be keeping in touch with Ayi Suyan, what a wonderful lady she is.
Our last day is a mix of emotions. While we are so excited to be leaving and one step closer to home, we are still a bit sad to be taking Bella from her birth town.
Sunday, October 30
-- Back to Guangzhou
After our goodbyes with our dear friend and guide Annie, we boarded an early flight to Guangzhou to complete the necessary requirements for the US end of the adoption.
Bella did fabulous on the flight. After about thirty minutes of playing she slept for the remaining 90 minutes of the flight!!! We are hoping this is a sign of how she will be on that long flight across the ocean;0)
The first thing we did after checking into our hotel was get the Chinese version of American food at Lucy’s and boy was it good. The best chicken fingers and fish and chips we ever had.
Our hotel has a magical playroom called the Swan Room. Bella loved playing with all the toys and especially all the other children. She seemed particularly drawn to the ride on vehicles.
We spent the rest of the day shopping and getting the remainder of our paperwork in order.
Monday, October 31
-- Medical Check
Today Bella had her medical check done as required by the US consulate. She did so good and barely cried. As with Melanie, her back caused quite a stir with the doctor’s so we had to wait while a few Chinese doctor’s came to see it.
We also went shopping for pearls and went a little over our budget but boy are they beautiful.
Nana’s kids we are loaded up with surprises for you and are so anxious to see you. We can hardly wait, we miss you and love you so much.
