Ni Hao Friends and Family:
This morning started of pretty early. Around 2am I thought I heard Arisson making spit bubble noises, so I started to pat her back. Her body was covered in slime. It wasn't spit bubbles, it was a horrible diaper blowout. I got her cleaned up and saw it was all over the bed, so we had to sleep on Jason's wooden bed with him. We slept until around 6am. Arisson got a bottle, which went down well, and we headed to breakfast. Arisson seemed a little punk again. Our breakfast was good, just a little odd, again. Noodles, beef and onions, fried eggs, and these things that were kind of like a burrito, but was filled with bean sprouts and other veggies. I am excited to get back to the Victory Hotel. They don't have orange juice or anything remotely similar to my idea of breakfast. The Americans were once again the center of attention. Chinese people were all literally turned around in their chairs to look at us. Some took pictures of us. I just smiled and waved.
It was hard to leave the China Sea. If the Victory Hotel was by the Sea, I think I would have put up a fight. The sun was shining and it looked like it was going to be beautiful day. Before we left, we went up to our room to get our stuff. Jason moved Arisson and my bed, and said there was poopie diaper blowout everywhere. It was a mess. We cleaned it up, but I was thinking that the maid was not going to have a very good impression of us. We hopped on our bus and headed to Yangjiang City again. We stopped on the side of the road for a photo opportunity at a rice paddy. Chinese people work very hard. We Americans really don't know how good we have it. Our guide, Bill, said he worked in the rice fields for 2 years after high school. He said it was very hard work. We continued on our trip and then we stopped at a store to look at knives, because that is what Yangjiang City is known for. Jason and I bought a knife set and a few other things. One guy in our group got a couple swords. I think Jason was jealous, but he knows as well as I do that swords in our house with the boys would not be a good idea :)
We stopped at the same restaurant that we ate at Thursday. We liked the food at this restaurant, as well as the Western bathroom that is attached to the room we were in. I gave Arisson a bottle, and moments later it all came up. It was a mess. Thankfully, we had the towel that we brought from the Victory. And thankfully, another parent had a bag to put the towel in. Jason got Arisson, me and the floor cleaned up. I just can't figure Arisson out. She was once again looking a bit listless.
The bus trip home was pretty uneventful. Every once in awhile a baby would fuss. Arisson stayed very quiet and slept most of the time. A few people wanted to go to the store before returning to the hotel, but I was thankful that we all decided to just return to the hotel and shop tomorrow. We got back to our room around 6:00pm. It was like returning home, or at least a nice home away from home. Arisson seemed to perk up when we got to the room. I gave her a bottle, and she did fine. I am puzzled. I don't know if she just is feeling over stimulated when we are out amongst them or what. She played on the floor and laughed and smiled, and crawled around. We ordered pizza again, and just ate it in our room. Arisson fell asleep around 8:30, and Jason was out by 8:31. I journaled and caught up on a few emails. And I will also confess, I had to google American Idol to see who was voted off while we were gone. I am so weird! I was so tired, but still decided to read a little before going to sleep. I turned out the light around 11:10.
The other 2 families, who went to Gansu, and Bob are coming to Guangzhou tonight sometime. I am looking forward to seeing them and see their children. It feels like so much time has passed since we have seen them. Hopefully, all is well with them. To the A's at home: Daddy and I are missing you and so excited to introduce Arisson to her brothers and sister. She is going to love you, and you are going to love her! I am hoping to get a good report when we come home. We only have about a week left! |
