December Update - Merry Christmas!
Hey Friends!
This is Rachel, giving my part of the Christmas update.
I’m in eighth grade this year and fourteen years old. My favorite subjects in school are reading and creative writing. My least favorite is math. Yuck!
My favorite outside class this year has been a writing and drama class with Mrs. Lynnette Isaak, and I hope to continue it next term. I also really enjoyed choir. I am taking a Spanish class, with Mr. and Mrs. Riegg. I am also attending Fired-up Youth and have been really enjoying that.
Mom has signed me up for basketball on the Molalla home-school league. This will be my first time playing. Since I am on the short side, I don’t expect to be very good, but I’m looking forward to it. I have recently become interested in archery and hope to take some classes this summer. A new interest for me is moviemaking. I just bought a camera, but so far my only movies have been of family events and skits my brothers and sisters have done.
I can’t wait till Christmas! Can you? This will be Anna’s (or Nanna as we have started calling her) first Christmas. Since she loves being around people (especially when they are paying attention to her, which they generally are,) she is going to absolutely love it.
Well, in closing, it’s been a great year in spite of its challenges (not that it’s over yet,) and I am glad that we brought Anna home. She is such a blessing.

This is Sarah! I’m in the 5th grade this year and I’m enjoying it! My favorite subject is reading and I DO NOT like math! In case you don’t know I recently turned eleven! It’s been a great year mostly because we got our little sister from China! She is adjusting great and it’s hard to believe we’ve only had her five months! Last night we went to the ZooLights! Anna had too much sugar and was singing happy birthday (she just learned that song) all the way home!
As for my Christmas greeting…

This Christmas make room for Jesus in Your hearts so there can be Christ in Christmas!
Hi, this is James,
I did a lot this year. My favorite part was when we got the baby goats. (Well maybe that was my second favorite part.) My favorite subject is math. My least favorite is penmanship. It is the opposite of my sisters. My favorite animals are snakes and lizards. My favorite color is red ’cause it looks cool.
My favorite hobby is building with Rokenboks and Legos, and fixing things.
This year we went on a fieldtrip to Franz bakery. It was really yummy and I learned a lot.
My favorite vacation was going to Florida. I didn’t go to China but we stayed and had grandpa camp with Grandpa Dean of course.
Like Mark said, we figured out how to make his boat go forwards and backwards in the goat water. We do stuff like that. We have lots of fun and love Anna a lot. (But sometimes she can be LOUD!)
I just want to say two more words:

Hi! I’m Mark!
I’m five years old and have red hair. My favorite animal is the Komodo dragon, and my favorite color is orange because it’s the color of my hair. And I really do like my mom, she has nice kisses, and dad, he always gives me a bed time story.
This year I liked seeing pictures of China. We had grandpa camp while they were there. I like apple juice and milk. I like to get my big ship and play with it and a boat that James and I sailed in the goat water. I got my sleeves wet. It was really fun, and we found out how to make it go forward and backwards.
Jack is my goat, I really like him and James and Rachel and Sarah like him and now I’m sad because he had to get a shot. I saw a fish tank at the place where Jack got his shot and there were two mud skippers, a dad and a baby. The dad was like a hundred feet and the cage was like ten feet around. Yesterday the lights turned out. And we had a trampoline out in the family room which was my bed.
It was awfully fun this year, thank you.

Hi I’m Anna,
I was adopted this year by a nice family. They give me chocolate. I like singing “Halleluiah”, “Happy Birthday”, “Mommy and me”, and “Jingle bells”. I have fun calling Sarah, “Rachel.”
I call myself Nana. I like Mark but sometimes he annoys me.
I have six baby dolls and four baby bottles. I’m very cute and every one loves me. I like American food and eat lots of it.
