I am sorry it has taken a few days to get this post written. Anna is not sleeping through the night and that is really wearing me out! Of the 3 nights home, she has been awake at 3AM, 2:45AM, and 12:58AM. And I've only used Benedryl 1 night to get her back to sleep! (That would be the 2:45 night!) Wednesday night we arrived in DC at 8:45. Lauren was waiting at the airport with Mimi, Grandy, and Ms. Christi! Christi was the official photographer and snapped lots of good hugs with Lauren. Shawn and I both were so excited to see Lauren. She was equally excited to see us. We got lots of good hugs! We left the airport and went through a drive through for dinner, good ole greasy American food! Of course, Wednesday was a late night for us. We were all too keyed up to settle down very quickly. I think everyone was in bed by midnight. The past 2 days have been good. Anna does better and better each day. Friday was her best day yet as far as her playing around the house. She left my side more and became much more vocal. She doesn't talk due to her cleft palate but she certainly can make a lot of noise. Yesterday she kept "telling" us all sorts of things. We also visited the international adoption clinic yesterday morning. The doctor ordered bloodwork and did a physical exam. He said she looks healthy and happy...we agree! We will begin talking to doctors from 2 craniofacial teams soon. We are very fortunate to have such good medical care around this area. Thanks for all the notes and prayers during our trip to China. They really did make a difference. God was gracious during our trip. No one was sick, no one got terribly homesick, and we were given a most precious gift, our sweet Anna Grace Qiu. I will try to update our family blog every few days.
