Today was a BUSY day!! We started with lunch at an Italian restaurant. We met Lily, our China coordinator from Lifeline. She is the one who finds children on the shared list for our agency so we needed to hug her and thank her for finding our girl! How fun it was to introduce Anna to her. She was thrilled with how well Anna is doing. This afternoon we visited the Guangzhou Zoo. This was, of course, the highlight of the trip for Emily. She took about 50 pictures! Later this evening we went on a dinner cruise with our travel group. It was nice to spend time with them as we all begin going our separate ways tomorrow afternoon. Anna had her first taste of ice cream tonight on the cruise. Any child of Shawn's must love ice cream and she did! The first bite was startling to her because Chinese toddlers do not eat cold things. Our Xian guide said they don't usually eat cold stuff until around 5 or 6! So Anna was funny after the first bite. That is the picture I included. Once the shock wore off she realized it tasted pretty good. She began leaning in for more! Tomorrow's schedule includes finishing a few shopping errands and taking the oath at the consulate. We will leave from the consulate and go to the train station. We won't get to Hong Kong until late so I am not sure we will get a journal written tomorrow. I will try! But if not, we will do one when we get home on Wednesday! Oh how wonderful that sounds....HOME! We have enjoyed our time here, especially these last few days in Guangzhou but we are ready to bring our little girl home. Pray for Anna to do well on the long flight. She is VERY active and I know this could be a challenge for us all. Thanks for the prayers, notes, and encouragement.
