The other day, we saw some men digging a huge hole outside of our hotel room. It was so big that many men could fit down in it. I said to Jeff, “Hey, they’re digging a hole to America”! ha ha!
Today was the day that we left our little Anna’s province to go to Guangzhou. Emotion would hit me at the strangest times on this trip. As we were leaving on Air China flying out of Jiangxi, my heart was filled with emotion. I was thinking about Anna’s biological mother and father, her homeland, and her past. We were saying good-bye to one life and hello to a new life. I cried as I held her and as we soared high above the clouds.
What a privilege to be able to be Anna’s mom and dad! We are so thankful!
When we arrived in Guangzhou, we were all escorted to our hotel. We were all really excited to stay at the White Swan. To our surprise we were booked for a hotel 40 minutes from there on the other side of the tracks. It was fairly gross and we knew it would be a long 2 days in our hotel room. The best part was the breakfast and the fact that there was a McDonald’s nearby. We are really, really missing our boys at this point and cannot wait to get home. I think if someone told me we would be roughing it, I would have been fine. But, when you’re expecting something else, it’s a little disappointing. However, our main focus was to come and get our baby and that we did! That’s all that really matters!
