I think we are entering the "bored" days here. Yuck. Every day seems like the day before. Tonight we got in the elevator after grabbing a bite to eat and there was a large group all returning from the consulate after their swearing in. I envy them.
But - I believe that we had a really good day - all the way around.
We went to the Yun Tai Gardens today. It is SO beautiful there! Our travel group went there last year and enjoyed the colors of the flowers a LOT. It's funny - the seasonal "decor" there during the summer is sunflowers! It felt like home (in Kansas)! It was miserably HOT! I am pretty sure I have never sweat so badly. And wouldn't you figure that as we are leaving, the local English Guangzhou news is there and wants to interview the foreigners that visited the garden! So, I guess I will be on the news later. Interesting.
I honestly don't know how, but Amber has been running every afternoon in this heat and humidity. She is training for cross country season for school. Each day she comes back looking more and more "whipped" by the weather. If it were me, I would just quit running. However - if it were me, I wouldn't have started. :) Anna got to meet her siblings this morning on the web cam that Chris set up! She saw her Daddy on the screen and started saying "DaDa". Too cute. She was very curious about the mode of interaction. Amy was so sweet when she first saw Anna! She said "there's my baby Anna". Amy just sat and made silly faces at Anna the entire time. Ash is going to love Anna's personality and Austin is going to LOVE playing rough with her. She loves to wrestle and tickle on the floor.
I bought pearls today for all the girls and a bracelet for myself. The ladies that tie the pearls are amazing and I love to watch them work.
Tomorrow a good friend that lives here in China is coming to see us! We are thrilled that she traveled 12 hours to come meet Anna on this side of the world. I think we will do a little shopping tomorrow and then have Dim Sum.
I appreciate all the emails of encouragement and advice. Please know that I am reading them. I am so tired by the time I post at the end of the day that I have to go to bed. Anna woke up from her nap waaaaay early today - just as I was sitting down to answer some email.
Enjoy the pics!!!
