July 3, 2007
Chris here... Tami is too wiped out to post, so I get the honors today.

Today is my last full day in China, as I leave to return home tomorrow afternoon. I miss Ashleigh, Austin, and Amy; and I'll no doubt be thrilled to see them again. However, it is bittersweet, as I'll miss Tami and Anna until they join me back home.

The day started with another trip to the Civil Affairs office; Our guide, David, got us there before the rush of families, so we were the first family through the process. Which means we got to leave while other families were sitting around waiting for their names to be called. THANKS DAVID!

After a "happy nappy" for Miss Anna, we decided it was time to head to the beach -- err... I mean the pool. Anna loves the water, and was not happy when mommy took her for some dry off and get warm time. Even though she was cold and her lips were turning blue, she wanted back in the water pronto. Who are we to keep Anna from her water? So back in the pool she went.

We've been here how long now -- and we still haven't eaten any Chinese food! (YES!) Tonight, we hopped in a taxi for the first time this trip and headed to the hut -- Pizza Hut, that is. There's a new Papa Johns here -- and they deliver to the hotel, but we wanted Pizza Hut. (I'm guessing that, once I'm gone, they'll be ordering some Papa Johns delivery at least once!)

Well, I'll be back on U.S. soil around 6:00-ish on July 4th -- wearing an Old Navy Tee with Old Glory proudly displayed. So let me just take these last few words to say... "Thank God for the U.S. of A."

Your Proud Patriot,

Chris
