It has been a few short months since God gave us our beautiful baby girl. We thank each of you for your prayers, your help, your encouragement, your gifts and your love. Those who are a part of our life know what a blessing Angelina is. Lives have been changed.
On June 18th, a pediatric neurologist diagnosed Angelina with hemiplegic cerebral palsy. Her MRI showed the cause of her condition was due to her birth mother’s malnutrition which caused the placenta to breakdown resulting in multiple strokes in the left side of Angelina's brain. She is doing great! Please continue to keep Angelina in your prayers.
We know God has a plan for Angelina. Had she been diagnosed with this condition in China she would have been in the “special needs” program which we were not a part of. She is so perfect for our family in every way that we can’t imagine how life would be without her. Our lives have been changed forever.
Angelina is full of joy, love, determination and spunkiness. To see the love she has for Liliana & Eli words cannot express. She rides on Liliana’s hip, pats Eli on the back and gives great big hugs. She delights in Liliana & Eli and they love to be with her.
She continues to leave an impression on all who meet her. A very close friend shared that he wanted to start a foundation for Angelina. His desire was to tell her story; “a Changed Life”. Seven weeks later we attended an international health & wellness convention…the theme was “Changing Lives”.
We know only God can change a life, yet He chooses people to accomplish His goals.
While at that USANA conference we heard from Dave Phillips, President and Founder of the Children’s Hunger Fund. His message was one of hope, “Every life is precious. Every child should have the opportunity to reach his or her full potential, to strive for greatness, to become all that he or she is created to be. By reaching out to needy children and introducing them to a God who loves them and cares for them, we seek to bring real hope to the next generation.”
In lieu of starting a foundation, we have decided to address the immediate need, malnutrition. What happened to Angelina was preventable; yet more than 5 million children will die of hunger related causes this year and 253 million children are malnourished. Together we can do more than we could ever do as individuals.
