Sunday morning we had the opportunity to worship in a Christian church in Guangzhou. It was very cool to see that there was standing room only!!! It was even more special that we were able to worship with Angelina in her native country.
To see so many seeking the Lord is very touching and encouraging. To see what God is doing in China is amazing. We were told there are 27 Christian churches in Guangzhou alone. We sang “How Great Thou Art” in both Chinese and English. Each week a person shares their personal testimony as part of the service. To hear how a life has been changed by following Christ puts everything in perspective…God changes lives…People love God…People love each other…God changes lives!
In the past two and a half decades the number of Chinese Christians has grown from an estimated 1-2 million in 1978 to 20 million in 1998. In 2008 there is believed to be 60 million Christians in China (out of 1.3 billion people this is less than 5%). Many believe that ten thousand Chinese become Christians each day! If we continue to pray, we may be surprised by what God will do in the next 30 years.
