We made it!!! Our Journey started with getting picked up @ 7:30 am. We decided to take a Limo because it didn’t make sense to have Joren be stuck in rush hour traffic. When the driver shows up it was a Hummer stretch limo, what a way to start a trip! Saying goodbye to Liliana & Eli was one of the most difficult things that we have ever done. Our flight left Chicago @ 10:55 am on March 25 and we landed in Shanghai China @ 2:25 pm on March 26. The trip went by quickly until we had a layover for 4 ½ hours in Shanghai until we flew to Beijing. By the time we got into Beijing it was 9:10 pm and we were thoroughly exhausted. A man was holding a sign with Greg Sobecki on it so he took our baggage and off we went. He didn’t know a lick of English so we just followed him to his car and trusted that this was the person we were supposed to be meeting.
We finally went to bed by midnight and slept a good 8 hours! The breakfast buffet was unbelievable! I have never seen such a variety of foods for breakfast. Greg thought that he would be losing weight on this trip but after today he will probably be gaining rather than losing! Wow! Massages here are so inexpensive! We decided to go for it since we had some down time before the rest of the adoption group were arriving later in the afternoon. Talk about an experience, it was to say the least. Greg’s table was right next to mine and we got massages at the same time! I won’t go into details but when I heard the girl karate chopping and slapping Greg’s back it sounded like she was playing the bongo drums!!! Needless to say, I started laughing and couldn’t stop. It was one of those moments that top as being one of the most hilarious! Greg is wondering why it is taking me so long to write. I better get ready for bed; tomorrow we are getting up early and hiking the Great Wall! We’ll post pictures tomorrow.
It’s less than 4 days until God gives us our baby girl!!!
