First of all, we would like to apologize for taking so long to update our website. It feels like our lives have been in a whirlwind and the first time I was able to get on our computer was Monday night!
We didn’t get much sleep the night before we left China (1 ˝ hours to be exact). Angelina’s first flight went well from Guangzhou to Shanghai and then we had a 4 ˝ layover before we flew to Chicago. Our flight from Shanghai to Chicago was about 13 hours and Angelina slept for 9 hours of it. For being such a long trip she did incredibly well!!!
Once we arrived at O’Hare Jiang Cheng Wang became a U. S. citizen and her name became Angelina Hope Wang Sobecki!!!
The very first thing that I wanted to do was kiss the ground, but unfortunately that never happened because the limo was waiting for us. Until you leave the U.S. and really experience how the rest of the world is living, you have no idea how blessed we are to be living in this country!!!
When we pulled up in the driveway and saw Liliana and Eli waiting for us outside we lost it!!! They ran to the car and started trying to open the door. Liliana took Angelina out of the car because she wanted to be the first one to hold her!
The outside was decorated with streamers in the bushes and little pink bags with hearts and candles inside lined the entry to our house. There was also a big sign that read “It’s A Girl!” Inside our house there were balloons, streamers, a huge banner, poster boards with pictures and captions, flowers; what a beautiful welcome home party!!! This definitely was the happiest moments of our lives; our family was finally together!!!
Angelina did great with everyone! The kids kept taking turns holding her and she never cried once. It was so awesome to have my parents, sister, brother-in-law, nai nai, Christian and Sue here too! We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family!
We will definitely post pictures later this week. My sister-in-law took all of the pictures and I’m having a hard time downloading them.
Angelina’s birthday is April 23! We will have a special little 1 year birthday party for her, so please feel free to come and help us celebrate! (April 26th)
As I was holding Angelina in my arms tonight and singing “Jesus Loves Me” I was thanking God for this little girl. My mind couldn’t help but wonder about her birth mom and the sacrifice she made to save her baby girl. God is sovereign and my prayers are with her daily that He would give her a sense of peace and comfort that her baby girl is being loved and well taken care of.
Angelina Hope was named on Mother’s Day 2005 and her name means God’s messenger of hope. We know that God has a plan for her life and we are so honored and grateful that we were chosen to be her parents, thank you Lord!
