We are really enjoying our time here at The White Swan. Today we have a free day so we had a long breakfast at the hotel’s buffet. We loaded up on eggs, banana bread, and fruit and of course, Angelina’s favorite, congee and steamed eggs. It is a beautiful day in Guangzhou so we spent the day walking around the town and shopping. The shoes are so cute and inexpensive, $3.00 a pair, so we bought Angelina 10 pairs that should last here about a year. We also bought two sets of Chops which are stamps that have Joseph and Angelina’s name engraved both in Chinese and English. There are definitely certain things that must be purchased when in China, such as pearls, jade and Chops. Also, we had both of their faces etched in stone. It was amazing to watch the young girl carve their faces; it looked like a tedious process. The stone only cost around $10.00. Joe and Joseph had fun when they went on their own shopping excursion. They found a shop that sold everything such as fine china and jewelry. The salesgirl’s name was Suki. She was a pretty girl that ended up being a great salesgirl. While the boys shopped the girls tried for a nap back at the hotel. Angelina is a healthy, alert, curious and a playful baby but she is not much of a sleeper. We ended up playing most of the afternoon. We then joined the rest of the group for lunch at our favorite western style café called Lucy’s where Joseph enjoyed a hamburger and milkshake.
