We stayed close to the White Swan Hotel today—didn’t take a taxi ride or bus anywhere! The weather was gorgeous, perfect for walking around and sitting outside. Bradley put on his swimsuit however, the water was too cold! He played badminton with Richard, Nancy and John. This is the perfect time of year to be here in Guangzhou and NOT Michigan!
AngeLina was a bit fussy today and didn’t seem to be feeling very well. She took several long naps and just wasn’t her happy self. I am not sure if her temperament is due to teething, her stuffy nose and congestion or something else. I am just praying that whatever it is- is gone before the long plane ride! The small, uncomfortable plane seats are bad enough without having a sick baby for 14+ hours and no where to relax!
Just a few travel tips to anyone coming to China… 1) don’t buy any of the cool magnet toys that you can flip up and that make a sound—John and Nancy bought several for family and friends. Now the Guiyang Airport attendants have them! So sad! We will see what souvenirs we have to leave behind- Bradley is driving me crazy with all of the swords they have here for sale… the two toy swords we bought could stay behind as far as I am concerned! Tip #2) don’t trust that the airlines (Northwest) will take care of changing the babies name on the return ticket! Richard forgot that AngeLina’s return ticket needed to be in her Chinese name. I called to have it changed before we left and the operator I spoke with assured me that it would be corrected. Of course now it is a problem! We will have to go to the airport extra early—5:00 AM to hopefully get this taken care of without paying MORE money! I am not looking forward to the flight home—the boat doesn’t seem like a very good option either… hmmm, maybe I will stay!
We are all doing well- just missing our family, friends, Max and Jake! Just one more day here in China! We will be home before we know it! Thinking of you all—
