Yeah, the day we have been waiting for--- AngeLina is finally in our arms! It was an exhausting and emotional day, a day that we have been waiting for, for a long time. I am glad that it is almost over. We arrived at the hotel at approximately 4:00 pm. The scheduled meeting time was 5:00 pm however, both babies were in the lobby before we had checked into our hotel rooms. The meeting was a bit overwhelming with so many people and without really having time to prepare. We met the foster mother and AngeLina’s foster sister. The foster mother was so kind and generous. She brought AngeLina’s bottle, some formula, cereal, and gave us the sweater she had knit for her. The foster mother and sister were both quite emotional about letting her go… just as I would be! I know that they really loved and cared for her which is wonderful… and will make the transition to our family a bit tough! We have had her in our arms for almost five hours and slowly she is beginning to acknowledge us. She is more beautiful than I imagined. Thank goodness I packed a few 9 month old clothes- she is tiny and the 6-9 month outfit I tried on her fit her perfectly! AngeLina and Claire (John and Nancy’s baby) both look healthy and happy. It is still hard to believe that we finally have her in our arms. I am going to make this short- because there is so much to do! Tomorrow we have several appointments and we need to shop for more formula and other snacks.
